Nortrux Inc. has an opening for a Shop Foreman – Heavy Duty Technician at our Grande Prairie location. POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Foreman will lead and support the technician team. This hands-on leadership role includes overseeing diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and highway transport equipment, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Nortrux and OEM standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and support technicians in performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance

  • Coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of repair orders

  • Communicate with the evening shift and management to ensure continuity of work and information

  • Review and ensure accuracy of work orders and reports

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Ensure compliance with the Company Health & Safety Program and all applicable legislation

  • Provide on-the-job training and mentorship for apprentices and junior technicians

  • Collaborate with the parts department to efficiently source and requisition necessary parts

  • Perform road tests and verify completed repairs

  • Promote and support excellent customer satisfaction standards

  • Report safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or process improvements to the Service Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician – Truck and Transport (HET) Certification – Alberta

  •  Proven leadership skills in a shop or heavy-duty maintenance setting

  •  Strong understanding of diagnostic and troubleshooting practices

  •  Experience with Class 6-8 trucks and trailers. Specific experience on powertrain, emission systems and diagnostics is considered an asset

  • Valid Class 3 drivers license with a Q-endorsement

  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and laptop-based tools (e.g., Premium Tech Tool is an asset)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Committed to safety, organization, team development and customer satisfaction

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

  • Ability to lead and train others
